Weather & Climate

Many national and international visitors return to Cancun year after year because of the favorable weather. The resort boasts one of the world's sunniest climates with an average annual temperature of 25.5 degrees Celsius or 78 degrees Fahrenheit. You can spend your evenings soaking in the hot sun and then cool off in the warm, crystal clear Caribbean waters.

Strong winds and occasional rain may occur from September to November, but you are almost guaranteed to see a lot of sun during your stay! The inland areas of the Yucatan are approximately 10-15 degrees warmer than the coastal areas, and they can heat up to 110 degrees. You may want to pack a light jacket or sweater if you plan to visit Cancun any time between November and January. You may also experience a few afternoon showers if you visit during the summer months starting in June. But don't worry, they don't usually last long and can provide a welcome break from the hot tropical sun.
